| The female is a small black ladybird with red-yellow legs. The male has a brown head and a partly brown pronotum. Their size is 1,8-2,3 mm. The larve are white waxy powdered. They look like small larve of Cryptolaemus or mealybugs. |
| Biology |
| Scymnus rubromaculatus feeds on all kind of aphids, as Myzus and Aphis species. They are active at temperatures between 18 and 32°C. Below 15 °C. they go in diapause. Their developmental time takes 4-5 weeks. They can lay up to 200 eggs. |
| Use |
| SSL is especially efficient at higher temperatures. In glasshouses and buildings they can u.o. used against cotton aphids [Aphis gossypii]. Take care of a good ant-control! They are packed as adults in a transparant blister. |
