| The adult is about 2mm. The female is light-brown, with black-white antenna. The male is black. |

|
|
| Metaphycus helvolus paratizes several soft-scale species, as Coccus hesperidum, Saissetia coffeae, S. oleae and S. mranda. It lays her eggs in young soft scales (second and third stage), up to 5 a day. Many more scales are killed by host-feeding. Theire life cycle is during 33 days at 18 °C., 14 days at 24 °C. and 11 days at 30 °C. The adults live long (2 months at 26 °C.). |

| Their optimum temperatures lays between 22- 29 °C. Introduction numbers are depending of the level of infestation and the species of soft-scale. Introduction several times, 5-10 / M² or plant. |
