| Exochomus laeviusculus [synonym E. keiseri], is a shiny black ladybird, with a size of 3,0 - 4,5 mm. The front of head of the male is yellow. The head of the female is completely black. The larve is grey, with black spines on their back. |
| Biology |
| E. leaviusculus lives in al kind of habitats in the tropical climates of Madgascar and La Reunion. It is a polyphageous predator and preys on a broad range of pests-organismes. It is an effective predator of aphids, like Aphis gossypii, but also eats mealybugs, (soft-) scales, planthoppers and even mites. Developmental-time from egg to adult is 4-5 weeks. |

| EXL can be introduced as adults or as larvae. It can be used by temperatures of 15 - 35 °C, with an optimum between 24 - 30 °C. |
