| Encyrtus infelix is a brown-black parasite, and looks like an ant. Their size is 3-5 mm. They have two spines on the scutellum pointing strikingly upwards. |
| Biology |
| E. infelix paratises 2e and 3e instars of the soft-scale Saissetia coffeae. The paratised soft-scales swell up and turn black, with only the outer ring staying brown. After 3-4 weeks the adults emerge. |
| Use |
| EIS can be used at temperaures between 18-34 oC. They are also effective in situations where ants visit and protect the soft-scales, because they avoid them very well. |
